This is a replica rapier, a sword that was popular in Western Europe, featuring a slender pointed blade. It was favoured both by civilians (dueling and self-defense) and as a military side arm throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. The Pappenheimer Rapier gets it's name from imperial general in Count Pappenheim during the Thirty Years' War 

Approximate specifications are as follows:

Blade Length. 94 cm
Blade Width (At widest). 2.8 cm
Grip Length. 9 cm
Overall Length. 114 cm
Weight. 1.3 kg
Steel: High Carbon Steel
Scabbard: none

As this blade is high carbon steel, it is not moisture resistant, therefore must be kept dry and regularly oiled to keep in top condition.
