This is a replica of a late 18th-century hunting Sgian Dubh, with sheath and black handle. This is a small, single-edged knife worn as part of traditional Scottish Highland dress along with the kilt. It is now often worn as part of a traditional Scottish dress tucked into the top of the kilt hose with only the upper portion of the hilt visible. It is usually worn on the dominant hand side.
