An axe such as this would need to be heavyset and durable relying on the sharp spike at the rear of the head to devastate barricades as well as its keen edge to break up flaming timber and aid those who wield it in combat .The head of the axe is made from durable high carbon steel. To finish, the blade has been sharpened to a cutting edge and has been hafted on a 47cm half charred length of English Ash.
